Fresh-Faced and Fabulous: Easy Makeup Tips for Busy Moms

Hi Bellas,

As a mom, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of daily life and let our self-care fall by the wayside. From the early mornings to the late nights, tired moms have a lot on their plates. However, a little makeup can go a long way in helping you feel refreshed and revitalized. In this blog post, I'll be sharing some helpful tips and tricks for doing makeup for tired moms, so you can look and feel your best even on the most exhausting days.

  1. Start with Skincare- One of the most important steps to achieving a fresh-faced and glowing look is to start by focusing on your skincare routine. Cleansing, toning, treating and moisturizing your skin before applying makeup can make a huge difference in achieving a smooth and radiant complexion. One of the biggest ways to combat a tired look is invest in a good eye cream - the skin around our eyes shows fatigue and age the most. Look for ingredients like caffeine to depuff, vitamin c to brighten, and hyaluronic acid to hydrate. I use the IT Cosmetics confidence in an eye cream because it does all of the above.

  1. Keep it Simple When you're feeling tired or don't have a lot of time to spend on your makeup routine, it's best to keep it simple and multi-task. Opt for a lightweight tinted moisturizer or BB cream to even out your skin tone, and use a subtle concealer to camouflage any blemishes or under-eye darkness. A neutral cream blush can be placed on the apples of your cheeks can help to brighten your complexion, and you can even place the same product on your eyelids and lips for more color. Just use your fingertips to blend and tap in the product and you're good to go. * I use NARS the Multiple as my go to multipurpose cream color.

  1. Don't forget brows and lashes Mascara is one of those products that can make a huge impact on your look, even when applied alone. A few coats of mascara can instantly open up your eyes and make you look more awake and refreshed. If you really want impact, use a lash curler before applying mascara to help open up your eyes even more. And another pro tip - wear two mascaras - one for lengthening and one for volumizing to get maximum impact. A fuller brow can also add a youthful lift to your face - I recommend a tinted brow gel or an angled brow pencil if you want something quick and easy. I currently the Wet N Wild Brow Pencil - works great and under $5! Remember to always go at least one shade lighter than your natural hair color so that the brows don't appear to dark or heavy.

  2. Take Some Time for Yourself Last but not least, remember to take a little time for yourself to relax and recharge. Whether it’s a quick at-home spa treatment, a yoga session, or just a few minutes of quiet time to decompress, making self-care a priority can help you feel refreshed and revitalized, inside and out. My go to de-stressers are at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week and curling up with a good book. If you're an avid reader like me I recommend getting a Amazon Kindle monthly membership for $7.99 a month - totally worth it.

If you want to up your makeup skills, I also provide private makeup lessons and even makeup shopping sessions to help you pick out the right products for you and to craft a custom makeup routine. Or book me for a mommy makeover for your next special occasion event - I love making over my fellow mommies.

To wrap it up, doing makeup for tired moms doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. With a few simple steps and the right products, you can achieve a natural and refreshed look that will help you feel your best, even on the most hectic of days. So take a deep breath, give yourself a little grace, and enjoy the ride of motherhood knowing that you've got this.
