I wanted to share a recap of an amazing event we had at Industry Makeup Academy a few weeks ago. We partnered with NARS Cosmetics to have a master class focused on education. I learned a lot and as always, will pass on the tips to you. Check it out!
Partnering with artist focused brands is one of IMA’s newest initiatives in continuing education. At the exclusive NARS X IMA takeover event, prospective students and alumni got a first-hand demonstration of “The NARS Look”. NARS Makeup Artists from Atlanta’s Buckhead Boutique taught with a focus on the integrity and quality of products. Our students learned that the key to becoming a successful Makeup Artist is picking the right items for your kit. The iconic Francois Nars started the brand, creating products with the Makeup Artist in mind. His hands painted the faces of the original super models including Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. NARS products are famously named after scandalous terminologies but also faraway places that inspired his looks. We’ve broken down “The NARS Look” into a few key steps.

How to Achieve the NARS Look
- Focus on skincare, applying hydration with upward strokes to plump up with skin.Warm product into the palm of your hand first so that it melts into the skin.
- Apply the right amount of coverage, pressing foundation into the skin with your fingertips.
- Define the eyes and brows with multi use neutral shadows.
- Be inventive, multi using products such as mixing lipstick with liquid illuminator to create the perfect cheek color.
