I'm back with another video in my Pregnancy Journey. I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of time in bed during pregnancy. With all the stuff we have to go through - morning sickness, back aches, itchy skin and heart burn...there are definitely some must have items that I recommend you keep by your bedside to make it through pregnancy. Check out my must-haves that I keep by my nightstand!
Onto the Must Haves!
- Water - Keep Hydrated!
- Snack - Eating a little bit before you get up helps with morning sickness. Also great for midnight cravings. Saltines or crackers is a great option.
- Unisom and B6 - Taken together they help combat morning sickness and help you sleep. My nurse told me it's the exact same as the expensive prescription they give.
- Belly Cream - I use Body Merry and Cerave- Place this on your itchy belly, boobs, or anywhere that needs relief.
- Tums - A must have for acid reflux and heartburn.
- Pregnancy Pillow - This changed my sleep for the better. I sleep longer through the night and am able to sleep on my side like it's recommended. My back also hurts less.
- Aloe - If you get hot during sleep spray this on your feet to cool you down.
- Tylenol - This is a safe pain reliever for you and the baby. Great for headaches.
- Benadryl - This is a pregnancy safe allergy medication and also helps you sleep.
- Humidifier - Great for breathing and congestion that often comes with pregnancy rhinitis. Also great to transfer to the nursery when the baby is born.
- Tissues - For runny noses associated with pregnancy rhinitis or allergies.
- Phone and phone charger - Obviously!
- Sleep Mask - Helps you catch some extra z's such as afternoon naps when the sun is bright.
- Ear Buds - Another sleep aid, especially great if you have a snoring husband like I do. I prefer the ear putty version because it's more comfortable and stays put.
- Labadorite - A mineral known for it's healing properties. I picked it up at a crystal store and keep it by my bedside for good energy.
- Prenatal Vitamins - Keeping it by your bed helps you to remember to take them. I use the Vitafusion gummies.
- Flonase - If you have intense allergies like I do, talk to your doctor about it. I was recommended Flonase and it changed my life and especially helped with sinus congestion.
- Qvar inhaler - If you experience shortness of breath like me, again talk to your doctor. She prescribed this inhaler vs the one my husband uses. I'm glad I checked with her.
- Tic Tacs - My mom gave me this tip to suck on a a tic tac if you have morning sickness. They're small so you won't accidentally choke on them at night, and it takes away the gross feeling in your mouth.
- Preggie Pops - Another hard candy that is supposedly good for morning sickness nausea.
- Makeup Remover Wipes - If you're too exhausted to wash your face and remove makeup at least you have this option to go to bed with clean skin.
- Facial Moisturizer - Keep some moisturizer by your bedside after you use your makeup wipes for a quick nighttime skincare routine.
- Skindinavia Post Makeup Recovery Spray - Great to spray after you remove your makeup so moisturize your face quickly. Also works as a great pick me up facial spray.
- Aquaphor - The best lip moisturizer ever. It also helps with skin irritations or burns.
- Pillow Spray - This is a nice refreshing mist to calm you down and make your pillow smell great. I picked up one with eucalyptus and mint, very calming. I got mine at TJ Maxx for just $3.99.
I hope this list was helpful! If you have any other must haves or recommended items for pregnancy, please leave them below!
