Guess what? One of my favorite brands, Graftobian, has released several more colors in their Pro Pencils line - both eye and lip liners. These Italian Crafted Pencils are creamy, packed with tons of product and come in some awesome, super wearable shades. Check out my swatches and review!
First off, I've used the Pro Pencils before - originally they came in only a few shades: Cocoa Bean, Black Velvet, Dark Chocolate. I loved these basic shades but I do like having more colors to choose from. So I was super excited when they launched these additional shades: Whipped Cream, Spicy Taupe, Sweet Violet, Evening Sapphire, Lady of the Lake, and Jade Tiger.
Immediately, you'll notice how long the pencils are. They're at least 1.5 times the size of most pencils and retail at under $8.49 - that's a great deal.
These pencils are pigmented, and very smooth. They have a creamy payoff which makes them great for smudging. There are a variety of neutral tones mixed with brighter colors but they are all still very wearable.
Whipped Cream is a bright white, great for highlighting and placing in the waterline for an open eye effect. I used the other brights as bases to make coordinating eyeshadow colors pop! Spicy Taupe is a really interesting shimmery taupe shade that is pretty unique, I like using it as a lid color. Since these are more of a kohl type pencils, wear an eyeshadow primer underneath to ensure no creasing.
I'm so excited that the Pro Pencils now extend into lip liners, yippee! They came out with a range of very wearable shades: Red Hot, Scarlet, Crushed Berry, Sultry Siren, Natural, and Nude.
This is a really great range of shades for all skin tones. I definitely can rock all of the shades. Red Hot is a nice vibrant pin-up red. Scarlet to me is more of a subtle red, the kind of color you'd get if you drank kool-aid and stained your lips. Crushed Berry is an awesome wine tone - this is perfect for vampy lips. Pair it with a red lipstick and va va voom! Sultry siren is a gorgeous plummy mauve shade, great for contouring pinks and nudes - it's one of my favs.
Natural is one of those go to colors that will be perfect for an everyday, my lips but better looks. Nude is a pale pink, great for applying all over to nude out your lips. For me, light nudes sometimes give me a ghostly effect, I'd probably pair it with Natural or Sultry Siren to make it more wearable for my more pigmented lips. If you want the infamous Kylie Jenner lip, apply Natural all over your lips and then contour and line the outer lipline with Crushed Berry, gorgeous!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's post where I do a complete makeup look using these pencils! I had a great color palette to choose from. Stay tuned!
