I'm back with another product review! Lately, I've been trying to curb my makeup purchases because I have so much, but i'm all about tools and skincare since i'm always in need of them. One thing I'll always repurchase is a makeup remover. One of my good friends recently became a Mary Kay rep and raved about their top sellling makeup remover, so you know I had to give it a try!
The Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover retails for $15 for 3.75 oz. It's been voted a Best in Beauty award from Allure magazine.
I have very sensitive skin and this product claims to be Hypoallergenic, oil-free and ophthalmologist tested. Immediately I noticed the consistency is very fluid, almost water-like. I shook the bottle up just for the heck of it, thinking it would activate the solution, lol. You probably don't need to do that because it's not oil based and won't separate.
Next, I applied the remover on a cotton round and placed it over each eye for a few seconds before wiping off the makeup. The process was easy and didn't required a lot of rubbing. I noticed that the product did not sting, did not leave residue on my contact lenses (cleansing oils always do this) and removed all of my eye makeup. I don't wear waterproof mascara but this claims to remove that too. It definitely got off all of my eyeshadow, liner and brows without leaving a greasy residue.
Overall, I found the product to be gentle yet effective. According to my friend Cynthia, this product also does an effective job of eliminating dust mites that might hibernate on your lashes, eww right! Please ladies and gents, no pulling and tugging at the delicate eye area, can we say premature wrinkling? In general, this is a great eye makeup remover to keep your peepers clean but also gentle enough to preserve the sensitive skin around this area. The bottle will last you forever too.
