You all know I love brushes. I definitely do not discriminate among brands and I try out as many brands as possible to share with you all the good, the bad, and the ugly. Today I have a set of vegan approved brushes to share with you all and a lucky reader will also have the chance to win a set of your own!
I received the Pirouette Master Collection 18 Piece Brush Set to try out. The founder Nika is actually a Vegetarian that created this line with a commitment to finding low-cost, yet high quality products that are cruelty free.
PROS
-big brush roll with extra mesh compartment
-brushes are eco-friendly
-$1 from each sale is donated to the World Society for the Protection of Animals
-nice look to handles and ferrules - matte black on black
CONS
-too many repeats of the same brush type
-outer edges bristles are on the rough side (tips that touch your face are soft though)
-missing blender brushes
Final Thoughts
Overall it's a decent brush set but for someone with me with lots of brushes to choose from, it didn't impress me that much. I expected the bristles to be softer I think. I did however, enjoy the two tapered blending brushes - one large one for the face and a tiny one for the eyes. In sum, the bristles could be improved and there could be a better variety of brush styles to choose from.
Interestingly enough, I have the smaller 10 Piece Glam Set (value of $89.95) to give away. This one makes more sense to me because you don't have repeat brushes and it makes a great essential set for travel.

I've been a using more and more synthetic brushes for the past 8 years as the styles become available as my skin hates the roughness of natural hair. It's great to finally see brush companies take a serious look now in creating natural textures in a synthetic fiber.

Because I do not a decent brush set I mainly apply my makeup using my fingers, a Q tip or those 2 sided sponge applicator. Watching your vids and doing research I now understand in order to see better results I must use the correct products. I am learning so much about blush and highlighting, contouring and primers. I would love to see how my applications techniques improves as I implement what I am learning. This bush set would be a wonderful help in the honing process.
