I wanted to share some shots of a charity fashion show I worked on several weeks ago. I'm finally getting around to the pictures. The look was an intense smokey eye and nude lip.

One of my good friends Karla, asked me to lead the makeup on the event. Her parents founded an organization, The Children's Integrity Fund, that completely supports a public school in Jamaica. All of the proceeds go to provide teachers' salaries, supplies and much more for a lucky group of children in Jamaica. Here in Atlanta, I get a lot of requests to do fashion shows for "free advertising". I think it's good for those who are trying to build experience, but after a while you should choose wisely as your kit and time is worth a lot. However, when it's for a friend and a good cause, I decided to donate my services to the event. The hall that was rented was packed and they raised a lot of money for the cause.

I love my makeup chair! It's lightweight, comes with a carrying case, and is wider than most. I've been meaning to re-film a video on it because the first one was so bad I didn't even show it. I'll get around to it!
Another model and friend of Karla...she was truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. Funnily enough, she was good friends from one of my friends in college that I haven't seen in forever. She even called her for me so I could chat. I only had about 15 minutes to do her, but her skin and brows were great and she was so easy to do!
Another model...she had gorgeous, dark toned skin. I warmed up her skin a little bit with color correcting foundations.
Karla's younger sister also modeled...can you believe she's only 14!

Here's a tip for you aspiring makeup artists out there. Buy a small, portable alarm clock. I purchased one for under $5 at CVS. Keep it on your table while you do makeovers so you can keep track of time! When it comes to fashion shows, it's great to be able to glance at the clock to make sure you're on schedule.
