I wanted to share some shots of a charity fashion show I worked on several weeks ago. I'm finally getting around to the pictures. The look was an intense smokey eye and nude lip.

One of my good friends Karla, asked me to lead the makeup on the event. Her parents founded an organization, The Children's Integrity Fund, that completely supports a public school in Jamaica. All of the proceeds go to provide teachers' salaries, supplies and much more for a lucky group of children in Jamaica. Here in Atlanta, I get a lot of requests to do fashion shows for "free advertising". I think it's good for those who are trying to build experience, but after a while you should choose wisely as your kit and time is worth a lot. However, when it's for a friend and a good cause, I decided to donate my services to the event. The hall that was rented was packed and they raised a lot of money for the cause.
Check out some of the pics!
Here's a shot of me during a break in the gig. I'm rocking colors from the Graftobian FantasEyes #2 Palette.
I always love to see shots of others' kits...here's mine for the event! I knew there were about 8 ladies...all women of color. Each would get a dark, smokey eye and nude lip. It's good to get direction before you get a show so you can adequately prepare and pack what's necessary.

Friends!

Here's a tip for you aspiring makeup artists out there. Buy a small, portable alarm clock. I purchased one for under $5 at CVS. Keep it on your table while you do makeovers so you can keep track of time! When it comes to fashion shows, it's great to be able to glance at the clock to make sure you're on schedule. That's all for now folks, ciao bellas!
