I wanted to share with you pictures from a trial I did a few weeks ago. I was requested to do makeup for a traditional Indian Ceremony. There would be two looks - one more dramatic for the ceremony and a softer, more natural look for the reception.

For the first look, the bride came to me with a picture of traditional Indian makeup on a magazine cover. A lot of times, I'll do a look with golds, reds, and coppers for my Indian brides. We did something similar but instead of a regular gold, we went for a green based gold using MAC's Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow. Traditionally, you also go for a deep lip - either red or burgundy. A lot of my younger brides are used to softer more neutral lips. To make a compromise, we skipped the lip color and just went with liner and gloss - this helped to achieve a plum lip without too much color.
Check out the before and after. What a change right? She had big, beautiful eyes which were a perfect canvas for the dramatic eye look.
For th second look, the bride knew she'd be wearing an ivory colored outfit. We decided to go for something more neutral and stuck with pinks and champagne tones.
I'm looking forward to working with the client for her upcoming wedding in June. Stay tuned, I'll be sure to have pics!

That is beautiful, Ren! I love the 2nd look..I could wear it to work and her eyes are so big and bright..but she could honestly wear any makeup and still be absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing.

I'm an Indian myself and I attend Indian weddings quite often, you did an AWESOME job!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing the FINAL bridal look! :D
Just gorgeous!
Sigh. Ren, you make me want to be an Indian bride.
wow.. look at her :D hehe.. so pretty :D
Stunning! I love the fact you gave two options, a more simplistic and a more dramatic look. Using the natural look for the ceremony is always a winner, and go for the dramatic for your reception!
