Hi Bellas!
How was your weekend? I had a fabulous time in Savannah with the boyfriend. It felt like we were there for a week! We really needed this relaxing getaway. I ate, slept, chilled by the pool...it was amazing. I'll show you guys pics soon!
Meanwhile, I wanted to show you some preliminary pics of a shoot I did last week. The shoot featured an R&B group in Atlanta...two girls and a guy. I didn't get a shot of the male singer because I pretty much did basic guy makeup: a little concealer, powder, and filled in some missing patches in his beard.
However, I was able to get a few shots of the two female singers. I'll make sure to post the professional pics as soon as I get them.
My first client wanted a smokey eye with nude lips. I worked on contouring her skin and giving her a glow as well.
On her eyes I used mainly the following: blanc type eyeshadow, soft brown eyeshadow, soot eyeshadow and carbon eyeshadow - all from MAC. I topped it off with some blacktrack fluidline and Red Cherry lashes. On her lips she's rocking Cork lip pencil, Siss Lipstick and Chai lipglass - a great nude lip combo for women of color. Her skin was pretty flawless, I just added some dimension with a bit of my Sculpting Powder in definitive.
My next client wanted color! I took out a color wheel so she could pick up a color spectrum. She was gravitating towards the oranges and yellows. I decided to give her the sunset eye but modified it a bit from yellows and oranges to golds and coppers so that the look was a bit more wearable for the shoot. She had big beautiful eyes so it was easy to work it out.
On her eyes (all MAC shadows): Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow, Mythology eyeshadow, Sketch eyeshadow, Carbon eyeshadow.
I wish I could have gotten a before shot but sometimes you get a little caught up in the makeup and forget! I focused on filling in her brows with a bit of brown eyeshadow and pencil and it made a world of difference. On her lips she has Bateaux lipglass and Chesnut lip pencil.
That's it for now folks! Stay tuned for more later!
