Hi Bellas,
Happy Monday! Did the time change sneak up on you too? I had no idea! Oh well at least we gain an hour! Besides that I had a pretty tame weekend...I'll have pictures up of the Pumpkin me and the BF carved as well as my false lashes haul I did this weekend. Back to the post!
I recently was able to test out the FHI platform flat iron from BeautyChoice.com. I was excited because I've never owned a nice flat iron before....everyone I've gotten has been a cheapo one from wal-mart that only lasts a year or so before breaking. They sent me a 1 inch size flat iron which is also really good for my hair length. I wanted to try to do something a little different in my video. I already knew that it was able to straighten my hair, but I wanted to see how well it curled. You can see in my video that it gave pretty loose curls. I had never used a flat iron to curl hair before but this iron did the trick.
Pros:
-It has a 9ft beveled cord which prevents tangling.
-The flat iron has rounded tips which allow for easier curling.
-It can be used on damp hair.
-Heats up really quickly...goes up to 450 degrees.
-Floating ceramic plates conform to the shape of your hair
-Makes hair shiny
Cons:
-This flat iron was a little pricey. It was on sale for $129 regularly $165. However, good flat irons require you to put down a little cash these days. A lot of people say this one is better than the Chi.
-Gets really hot so you have to be careful not to burn yourself!
Here's What I Used:
EYES
-Holiday Smokey Eyes Palette (carbon, gorgeous, ambiance)
-Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black
-smolder eye kohl
-Auto-De-Blu Pearlglide
-Ardell Demi Wispies
LIPS
-cork lip pencil
-baby sparks dazzleglass

I love the FHI flat iron! I've had mine for over 3 years now and it's still going strong.
And you can make your curls tighter or looser depending on how much turn you put in and how much tension you use. It's a little tricky at first. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple.
i haven't tried to curl my hair using a flat iron, but then again my flat iron is like 2 or 3 inches so its not as easy to turn and curl the hair with. but hey it does a great job straightening hair! :P
hair looks nice, did u noticed your outfit matched your room theme? hahah i noticed weird things like that /
Hey, Ren! I love your silvery smoky eye. It looks great with the honey-colored curls you made so well. You're always an inspiration to us all :)

you look gorgeous sis!
Hi there-you look so pretty and dewy eyed in these pictures!!
This is an awesome site RenRen!
You're right about the fact that the more $$ you put down the better!! But my little sister got a Karmin from the same site I brought my FHI (http://www.myhairstylingtools.com/hair-straighteners-c-116.html) for less cost and I've tried it... works the same as mine!
ps... Ethereal Prey, I've found that anything bigger then a 1" is not meant for curling unfortunately.
I love this flat iron. My hair is really thick and I had used a cheap drugstore one for a few months with horrible results. When I finally got some extra cash I splurged on this one:
http://www.salonhive.com/fhi-platform-ceramic-styling-iron-1-w-nano-technology.html, and it has made all the difference in the world. I'm finally able to get all my hair consistently straightened and in a lot less time.
